UMC Utrecht selected SimpleComply for the installation of a Sterilwave 250 pilot system. The pilot assessed the on-site shredding and microwave treatment of defined biomedical and infectious healthcare waste streams.
The selection followed a detailed assessment of several suppliers and strict operational criteria. During the pilot, microbiological performance, workflow, occupational safety, process monitoring and output quality had to be evaluated under defined operating conditions.
Treatment does not automatically determine the legal classification or final destination of the output. Those decisions require site-specific validation and a documented downstream route that complies with applicable Dutch requirements and the acceptance conditions of the receiving processor.
SimpleComply supported the project with implementation coordination and the practical connection between technology, safety, logistics and the business case.
